Today I encourage every one of you to join the online climate strike! We can’t strike in the streets, but this way even more people can participate! The Covid-19 pandemic is changing so much of each persons daily life, but unfortunately climate change will change more! We have to continue to act on climate justice now and we can do this even at home! Work to reduce your family’s waste, power usage, mend your clothing, enjoy the outdoors, plant a garden and learn to appreciate the small simplistic things in life! In this stressful time we can make even more of a difference while we have this extra time to do so! We have seen the power that each individual has on the world, so use your power wisely!

So happy to be a part of the second breaking year for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanups. Although I only organized one so far, each one makes a difference. It is incredibly easy to organize just with your friends or with a club or organization you are a part of! Get your co-workers to do it with you or an extra-curricular group you are a part of. Each piece of garbage cleaned up could save an animals from choking or ingesting Microplastics. Also please make sure to never leave garbage on beaches, parks on anywhere frankly! Keep our planet clean! Today, a small group of youth stood outside of our MP Kerry- Lynne Findlay’s office, demanding climate action. Despite various efforts she will not meet with any local environmentalist youth . We need to work together today, if we want a livable future tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who came out to our peaceful protest this morning! I encourage as many people as possible to email Kerry- Lynne Findlay demanding your right for a future. Show your passion and share your desires. As youth are words are very very impactful, so share them!
Another amazing, empowering strike! It is so incredible to so many people yet again! We have to keep getting bigger, standing together and demanding change! This one with Greta Thunberg and David Suzuki had 15 thousand protesters! had Each monthly strike we loose another month of time to save our dying planet. The involvement of so so so many youth is so hopeful so keep it up everyone! See you all next strike! November 29th!!!!!!
Check out the link above of a speech I delivered at the local Green Party’s campaign launch. My family is doing lots in our household to reduce our footprint, but we need the government to legislate change. We don’t have much time before climate change will become irreversible. This election is crucial for our future! Saturday was national tree planting day, so our family planted some trees and bushes at Maple Park. It was so easy to participate and we had a blast. Trees are the oldest organism on the planet and it was great to pay our respects to them. Trees are almost magical in the way that they are able to suck carbon out of the air. We need to plant billions more in the next few years to at least slow runaway climate change.
Sign up to be apart of Surrey's Tree Planting initiative below. Climate Strike Part 2 A smaller but still powerful strike! It was so much fun leading the crowd and seeing so many young people act as leaders to support their future! What we all have to remember is that attending strikes isn’t enough! The more we can do the better, stop using plastic as much as you can, reduce your carbon footprint and let the politicians know we do not have time to waste! Write letters, make phone calls do whatever you can. We have to act today if we want a future for tomorrow!
CLIMATE ACTION NOW! In Vancouver over 200,000 people protested along the streets! In Canada over 85 cities participated! Over the course of the week over 6 million people in 4,500 locations across 150 countries protested for our right to a future!
On Friday night, my family and a few friends attended a lecture about climate change at the Chan Centre. David Suzuki and Stephen Lewis both presented us with amazing speeches about our world’s urgent consumption problem. The need for a sustainable energy source and a government that’s number one priority is the planet has to be enforced right now! There were two young speakers there as well that asked important questions about what youth can do to help make a difference. This really inspired us to take action even more, and showed us how much power young people have to make a difference. Most people, including us, have a hard time finding time to invest in helping with the environment. But any appearance helps. If it’s to a strike, lecture, whatever you can do, it all helps make a difference towards a better future for our planet.
Today’s little event was a huge success. My sister and I and some of our dance friends worked with Pixie and Eva from the Green Party to cut out signs so they can reuse them for the upcoming election! It was fabulous to learn lots about the fascinating life of these political leaders and share a little about what we want to see too! Thank you for the excellent experience! We hope to work with the Green Party far more in the future , promoting youth!
